Running IPTV on Multiple Devices in One Household

Layerseven IPTV plans are sold by simultaneous connections — 1 to 4 — which controls how many screens can stream at the exact same moment, not how many devices you can install the app on. You can install the app on every TV, phone, and tablet in the house; the connection limit only matters when two or more try to play video at once.
How many connections does your household need?
A single person or couple watching one screen at a time is fine on a 1-connection plan. A family where a game plays in the living room while a kid watches something else in their room needs at least 2. Larger households with three or more TVs in regular use benefit from a 3 or 4-connection plan — see our plan length guide for how term length and connection count interact on pricing.
What happens if you exceed the limit?
Trying to start a stream on a fifth device when your plan allows four typically triggers an error or kicks the oldest active session, depending on the app. It is not a security issue — it is simply the plan enforcing its connection count.
Does more connections mean more bandwidth needed?
Yes. Each simultaneous 4K stream needs its own 25 Mbps or so of bandwidth, so a 4-connection household streaming 4K on every screen at once needs considerably more total bandwidth than a single-stream household. Review our buffering guide if multiple simultaneous streams start causing quality drops.
Multi-device households and parental controls
If kids and adults share connections on the same plan, pair this setup with per-device parental controls so each screen has its own appropriate restrictions.
