Setting Up Parental Controls on IPTV

Family households running Layerseven IPTV can lock adult or mature categories behind a PIN directly in the app's settings menu, the same way a cable box lets you lock premium channels. It takes under a minute to set up and is the first control worth enabling on any shared TV.
Setting the in-app PIN
Open the app's settings, find the parental control or category lock section, and set a four-digit PIN. Choose categories to hide entirely rather than just lock, if young children use the device unsupervised — hidden categories will not even appear while browsing.
Router-level scheduling
Most modern routers include a parental control panel that can restrict internet access for a specific device by time of day, which effectively blocks IPTV streaming outside approved hours regardless of which app is used. Check your router manufacturer's support site — brands like Netgear and Google Nest Wifi both document this feature clearly.
Device-level restrictions
On Fire TV, Amazon's own parental controls can require a PIN before launching specific apps at all, adding a layer on top of the in-app lock. This is worth combining with the steps in our Firestick setup guide when setting up a kids' room device.
Multiple kids, multiple devices
If your household runs IPTV on several screens, set the PIN and category locks separately on each device profile — settings do not automatically sync between them. See our guide to running IPTV across multiple devices for how connection limits interact with a multi-screen household.
